Hampton Estate Management is home to Hampton Castle and Hampton Gardens, a historic estate with extensive grounds, formal gardens, and ongoing development projects.

We're looking for an Estate Grounds Operative to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and developing the estate. This is a hands-on role for a skilled landscaper and plant operator with proven experience in groundworks, hard and soft landscaping, and estate maintenance. Confidence in operating diggers and dumpers is essential.

This is a full-time position, working five days per week, including some weekend days.

What you’ll be doing

• Hard Landscaping – Support estate development projects, including work on a new visitor entrance and parking area.
• Soft Landscaping – Create and maintain planted areas around existing buildings and new developments.
• Garden Maintenance – Carry out routine tasks such as mulching, pruning, leaf clearing, weeding, hedge trimming, and mowing.
• Machinery Care – Perform routine maintenance on plant and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Health & Safety – Follow all operational procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

What you’ll need

• Proven groundworks experience, with confidence in using garden maintenance equipment and operating plant (including diggers and dumpers).
• Chainsaw certification and practical experience using chainsaws safely.
• Ability to read and work from architectural drawings and plans.
• High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining the estate to the highest standards.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and physically fit for demanding outdoor work.

• Hours –  Full-time, five days per week, including some weekend work.
• Salary – £30,000 - £35,000
